Detail of Artisan breadWe are dedicated to the craft of artisan bread making... and bringing it to you at everyday prices.

This entails working by hand with fresh, natural ingredients, rather than commercial pre-mixes. It is the baker’s use of touch, sight, smell and instinctive feel for the dough that controls the baking process, not the mechanical following of a recipe.

We don't use chemical fats, artificial preservatives or colours, added gluten powder or soya flour in our breads. (Just take a look at the long list of ingredients in a factory-produced loaf of bread!) 

Good things take time... that's why our bakers start just after midnight, to ensure the doughs have all the time they need to rise, rest and proof. 

The spirit and wonderful taste and textures of village baking lives on at our bakery with more than 20 varieties of bread baked fresh each day. 

Filled rollsFor your convenience, a wide range of filled rolls and sandwiches are prepared daily on the premises.

 

Gluten-free bread is available, best ordered in advance.

Many of our breads, like our White and Wholemeal loaves, Boules and Baguettes, are 98% fat free.
